Summer Research Opportunities in Global Health

These eight-week programs are open to current full-time undergraduate students; graduate students pursuing a Master in Public Health (MPH), Social Work (MSW), or Population Health Sciences (MPHS); and medical students looking to gain experience in the field of public and global health research (especially infectious diseases). Eligibility limited to U.S. and international students enrolled at the time of application and participation in the program at a U.S.-based university/college. These programs will expose students and future investigators to research in a lab or field-based setting and further their interest in public health or global health. They include didactic sessions and seminars, and is an opportunity to establish a career-building network. At the end of the eight weeks the students will give presentations at a student research symposium.
Participants are encouraged to apply who have challenged themselves and excelled academically; demonstrate experience overcoming substantial educational, cultural or economic obstacles; are first-generation college students, or can demonstrate a strong interest in bringing diverse people together. Applications also are encouraged from veterans, and from international students currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the United States.
