Testimonials:

Rebecca Mancuso

2013-14 Fulbright Visiting Research Chair at the University of Calgary from Bowling Green State University

“Serving as the Fulbright Visiting Research Chair at the University of Calgary for fall of 2013 was the opportunity of a lifetime. I would not have been able to advance my research agenda to such a degree had I not been invited into the Department of History, and not unimportantly, I made friendships in Canada that will surely endure.”

“I felt there was a very strong sense of trust within Fulbright; the staff expect excellence and ethical behaviour, and in return they give the scholar a great deal of freedom to spend time, and Fulbright funds, as the scholar sees fit. I really appreciated how we could use funds for travel and cultural activities – it’s all part of the experience.”

Tonia Warnecke

2013-14 Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in International Development Studies at McGill University from Rollins College

“The Fulbright Program has been a transformative experience in my life.  I entered the Fulbright Program just having successfully completed the tenure process at my institution; the past 5 years had been unbelievably busy and I had not had the time to sufficiently reflect and plan for the next phase of my career, or contemplate ‘who I wanted to be’ in the next 5-10 years. The Fulbright Program certainly assisted my research capabilities, but it was much more than that.  I realized that international development not only is my specialization and what I focus my research on, but it is what I love.”
