Core Facts about the awards
- The Fulbright Canada competition for American scholars is now open, and closes August 1, 2014
- The competition is for awards taken up September 2015 or January 2016
- Fulbright Canada offers over 50 awards in numerous disciplines with varying time commitments
Eligibility
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens,
- Hold a Ph.D., or equivalent professional degree as appropriate. Candidates outside academia (e.g., professionals, artists) with recognized professional standing and substantial professional accomplishments are also eligible, and
- Be proficient in English.
Applicants can apply to the:
- Distinguished Visiting Research Chairs: US$35,000 (4 months) at select universities in Alberta. Research area: Brain Science, and Child and Family Health and Wellness
- Visiting Research Chairs Program: US$25,000 (4 months) Visiting Research Chairs are targeted opportunities at select universities across Canada. Research area varies by institution.
- Traditional (All Disciplines) Award: US$12,500 (4 months
- Postdoctoral Research Award: US$30,000 (9 months) at the University of Northern British Columbia
- Fulbright-Carlos Rico Award for North American Studies: US$12,500 for one semester in Canada plus US$2,300 per month in Mexico
- Specialists Program: Short-term collaboration on curriculum and faculty development, institutional planning and a variety of other activities at Canadian institutions.
