The Center for Global Public Health (CGPH) is looking for an assistant for CGPH communication and media development. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining valuable experience in communications, public relations, and media in a global health context. This is a work study opportunity for a UC Berkeley student.
Job Description
• Main duties include helping support the development of a global health bulletin
• Draft short updates/press releases for CGPH publicity
• Attend various global health events to support CGPH communication and media development
• Update and create content for the CGPH website
• Manage social media, including Twitter and Facebook accounts
• Manage CGPH outreach listservs
Required Qualifications
• Excellent writing skills in a variety of contexts
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills in various settings
• Good knowledge of social media
• Knowledge of Microsoft word, Powerpoint, editing software (like Adobe photoshop)
• Ability to work independently
• Creative, detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to work quickly and follow through
• Willingness to learn new things
Preferred Qualifications
• Work experience in communications, journalism and/or health advocacy
• Interest in social marketing, advocacy and communications
• Interest in public health, global health and/or international development
• Photography and/or web design skills
• Experience with blogging and/or wordpress
