Partners In Health (PIH) is coming to UC Berkeley! PIH is a non-profit founded by Dr. Paul Farmer, Ophelia Dahl, Thomas J. White, Todd McCormack, and Dr. Jim Yong Kim in 1987. The principal mission of PIH is to ensure that primary care is equitably and effectively provided to all peoples regardless of political, socioeconomic, cultural, or religious status; keeping with the manifestation of Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

At UC Berkeley PIH | Engage (the outreach portion of PIH) hopes to bring together a group of like-minded and passionate individuals who, using the tools of effective social movement building, will come together to fight for the human right to health, both domestically and on a global level.

At present we are searching for individuals interested in joining the 2014-2015 PIH | Engage at UC Berkeley leadership board (4 positions). The application can be found here and is due by August 16th.
Furthermore, if you’re simply interested in getting involved sign up for the PIH | Engage DeCal “A Critical Understanding of Global Health” that will be held in the Fall and through which we will be recruiting members.
